Friday February 24, Day 4 of the World Expeditions Great Himalaya Trail by Glyn Harper
Namaste, have left the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu and saw perfect views of the Himalayan mountain range from above. We are all eager to see them up close very soon.
We've learnt not to under-estimate the human obstacles going on the GHT as we are in the middle of a general strike in the east of Nepal. So we had a 14 hour night drive in a cramped and fully loaded Nepalese bus to get to our first camp at Taplejung early this morning before sunrise.
All of the technical problems have been solved by Peter and the blogging system is now up and running. Taking our first steps tomorrow on the GHT trail (Saturday).
We are all looking forward to the start of what will be a very memorable experience.
The picture is of us arriving at our first camp site in the early hours of the morning.
